Does anyone have any useful comments or advice regarding of the performance
tuning of a 9-5 2.3t ECO automatic, using either the Hirsch or Abbot
upgrades ? Are there any others ? UK.

Depends on how much you want to spend really ..
Hirsch, I don’t know much about but they seem to do a more full package with
the car.
Abbot I find are a little bit too expensive for what they provide and don’t
seem that willing to chat on the phone and help you.
I find that trent saab (TSL) are very helpfull and more open minded, they
are also a well know tuner for scoobies and have a motor sport team.

Suffice to say Hirsch have been unofficially authorised by Saab GB for
a while now, as as of a few weeks ago, Saab have agreed to work with
Saab on a rather more official basis in developing engines and tuning
– industry reports have likened it to the relationships between the
likes of Mercedes and AMG, the tuning company that were eventually
bought out and are now a division of Merc themselves.
I agree with the other poster – Hirsch seem to offer more integrated
and sensible upgrade and tuning options rather than striaght forward
chipping and off-the-shelf aftermaket shocks and so on. They actually
develop most of the stuff themselves.
Order their brochure off the Reading Saab website – all seems rasther
impressive, and from what I’ve heard, the reality turns out even
better than the glossy pictures! http://www.readingsaab.co.uk
Hope this helps,
H.

I have my 2001 9-3lpt tuned by Hirsch and I am very satisfied with the
result.
+60hp en +75nm for only EUR 2000,- by my official Saab dealer in the
Netherlands.
So in my opinion make your choise for Hirsch.

Hey Guys (gals?)
I am also looking to upgrade my 2001 9-3SE (Canada) HOT. I am having a real
tough time figuring out whether to go Hirsch or Abbot. Abbot is in Canada
through ARM and costs around $1,400Cdn. But I am inclined towards Hirsch
because of the relationship with Saab. They are just hard to find here.
Any ideas?
