96 900se warrenty

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:54 pm

Group,

I have a 96 900se with 48,000 miles (ie: my warranty is about to run out).

Has anyone had experience with things that go wrong AFTER the warranty that
I can be on the lookout for?

Here’s what I HAVE had done recently

NEW:
Clutch
Front Struts
3rd & 4th gear
Sun visors
Rear door handles.
Rear Drivers corner light

REPAIRED:
Auto Antenna
Seatbelt latches
Dome Light

Any other suggestions????

    -Doug

  1. Im also wondering the same thing.  1997 900SE Turbo.
BTW why did you replace the struts???  Mine seems to be very loud when
going over pot holes and sharp bumbs.  Any thing that I can mention to the
Dealer so it gets fixed the first time?

  2. I didn’t notice the battery on that list, SAAB is about the only company
that puts non-maintenance free batteries in their cars, I would check this.

48k miles?  you might want to replace the clutch again…

The cruise control switch often brakes, this you may want to also replace

I can think of a few other things that have had to be replaced on my 97
    starter relay
    fan relay

  3. How’s your water pump?
Also check your AC, mine went (95 900SE), at ~50,003 miles. I have a great
dealer and he covered it. Would have been a $600 job.

Why struts and rear door handles?

There was a "Knocking" that I was getting around bumps, and they said that
the struts were bad. The door handles were getting tough to open. (My
    grandmother couldn’t open them)

Thanks for the heads up on the AC

  5. PMFJI…but I get knocking sounds on my 94 900 S — I’m assuming they are
the struts..How much did it cost you to fix them?
    Thanks in advance.
