My 96 9000CSE 2.3lpt (60k miles) misses under gentle acceleration, however
when pushed hard it can accelerate with the best of them. It has full Saab
service history (next service due in a month or so) and the last time I had
it at the dealer (a 14 hour overnight boot journey from Shetland to
Aberdeen) he said the waste gate had been sticking but they freed it up (I
didn’t notice any difference). The "missing" isn’t violent, more sort of
annoying. Any suggestions?

1996 9000 CSE lpt – "missing" under gentle acceleration
1996 9000CSE 2.3 lpt – missing under gentle acceleration
My ’96 9k CSE 2.3 lpt (60k miles) "misses" under gentle acceleration,
however if pushed hard it flies no problem (a slight miss at low revs but as
the revs climb it smooths out). It has full Saab service history (next
service due in March) and this has been happening since about a month after
I bought it (July 2001 with 53k miles on the clock). I had it at my friendly
dealer (a 14 hour overnight ferry journey for Shetland to Aberdeen) and he
did not cure the problem (although they said the wastegate was sticky but
they had freed it up – I noticed no difference – a bit disappointing at £52
per hour).
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
Manual Turbo Boost Controller
Hello,
Anyone fitted a manual boost controller on a 9-3 with favourable results?
Are these things safe?
Easy to install?
thanks.
900 Convertable rear window problem
I have a ’91 900 convertible which I believe has the original top. The seal
on the exterior bottom of the rear window is completely detached from the
window. It looks like there is some sort of strip on the top that was
somehow glued to the glass itself. Does anyone have any suggestions on how
best to reattach this strip to the rear window? I plan on replacing the top
in about a year, but I was looking to keep it together for a while. Any
help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Curt

Terrible oil leak
Hello all,
Yesterday I replaced cap & rotor on my 89 Saab 9000T. After a, well,
rough test drive I noticed a terrible oil leak. The car does leak some
oil but now it’s pouring out of the car. It looks like it’s running
down the front of the oil pan. I’m going to investigate later this
afternoon, anything in particular I should check?
Thanks in advance,
Rich
SAAB 9-5 ACC Display Faulty
Hi,
Is anyone else out there experiencing problems with the ACC Display the SAAB
9-5 2.3 LPT Saloon ? Despite re-calibration and the cancelling of any
programmed settings, I cannot get the ‘Auto’ function to show on the
display. The small ‘fan’ icon does not show either and some of the
incremental bars on the fan speed don’t show. Believe the unit is knackered
(broken). Am told that over here in the UK its about £250 to replace. Also
heard that SAAB recognised there was a ‘known’ fault with the ACC display
and would agree to replace it FOC if the car was less than 3 years old with
less that 60k miles on the clock. Hmmm that excludes me then (3.5yrs and
80k) !! Find it odd that if they are almost admitting to a fault that they
expect the customer to pay for a replacement when the fault kicks in. Fair
enough – one would expect to pay for wear and tear on mechanical parts but
to pay for an electrical component that is merely an interface to the AC
systems seems extremely harsh. Welcome any comments so I can go to my local
SAAB dealer with a more informed view from all of us SAAB owners in
cyberspace! Thanks in advance.
p.s. Does anyone know where you can source new (or reconditioned) units in
the UK? Thanks again. Mick R

Rechipping 9000
Has anybody rechipped the 9000 Aero auto to take it from 200bhp to 225bhp?
Does it work by increasing the boost?
Is it simple?
Is it safe (providing you don’t use the full boost ALL the time)?
Thanks……….Pete
