Hi,
I have a 98 900SE Conv that has 15" wheels with Michelin MXV 195/60 15′s on
them.
One of the tires seems to be getting noisy (whinning at higher speeds). Why do
they do that???
Anyways I could use your recommendation for tires that are on the comfort and
quiet side of the spectrum as opposed to the high performance side.
Thanks,
Bryan

I have a 91 9000 base model, and I need to change some burnt out bulbs in
the heater control, How do I get the main face panel off the dash without
breaking it? (Big panel covering entire dash face).
Also, has anyone retrofitted a cruise control from an "S" to a Base car? Is
the harness there or is it different for a USA spec base car to "S"? Base
car has no cruise.
Thanks for any help.

You can adjust it if you wish, but that is the way it is , for further

Hi,
I’ve got an SAAB 99 Combi Coupe from year 1978.
The textile in the roof has fallen down and is now only attached to
the roof at the edges.
Has anyone else had the same problem and how can you glue(?) it back
again without destroying the textile?
Thanks for your help

Happy new year!
I’m the proud owner of a rusted ’86 9000 and am looking to replace it with
with a newer model (probably a ’94 or ’95). It has a set of spiffy custom
wheels, and I’m wondering if they’ll fit on the newer models – does anyone
out there know what (if anything) changed over the years? Do the newer ones
have 5-lug wheels?
Thanks!

Guys, as ever, I turn to you for opinions and advice!
I am in a complete quandary over what to buy next! Yes, I know, it
sounds silly, but there you go.
Basically, my two options are 2002 9-5 2.0lpt Vector saloon, or a 2002
9-3 Aero 5-dr. My partner wants me to get the the 9-5 (after much
persuading that NO I did not want A Freelander, and NO I definitely
did not want a sodding Toyota Rav4!) However, I still have a hankering
for the 9-3 Aero.
My intintion with the 9-5 would be to Hirsch tune it later in the
year, but even then it wouldn’t be quite as quick as the 9-3 Aero. The
Aero also has the higher spec of the two, additionally, they’re doing
a deal in the UK of 3 years free servicing on all 9-3′s. Every little
helps…..
My partner thinks that as Ive had a 94 900 Turbo, and a 2000 9-3
Convertible, that it would be stupid to effectively have another of
virtually the same car. I’m also worried about depreciation, as the
9-3 will of course be replaced shortly……
Any thoughts, comments opinions valued, just don’t tell me I’m a
complete idiot!
Cheers,
H.

Does anyone out there know about interchanging transmissions between
different years/engines on 9000′s? I’ve got an ’86 with a 5-speed that’s
rusting. I want to get a newer 9000 with the 2.3, but most of the ones I
find for sale are automatics (yuk!). The big question: can I put my old
5-speed (after rebuilding, of course!) into a newer 9000 with the 2.3 motor?
BTW, yes I know I’ll have to do shift linkage, clutch stuff, etc., that does
not bother me (done it several times on 900′s).
Thanks in advance,
Eric Law
