Anyone knows what’s the quarter mile or 400meter time for Aeros and 98
9000CSEs(with aero engine)??
I am very interested in this since I have a 98 9000CSE 5-speed.

Hi there.

I have a Saab 900i 1996, 5 gear, that after being
driven for 20-25 minutes
or 40 km suddenly looses enginepower and/or stops
running.
It always appear if the outdoor temperature is
above 23°Celsius.
After the engine have stopped you can turn on the
ignition and drive
on for a while until the problem occurs again.
We have changed some sort of pressure-valve in
the front of the engine three
times and we believe it might have something to
do with it!?.
All the pressure-valves we have tried has come
from scrapyards. The
second valve we tried made the engine
die/misfiring when the outdoor
temperature was 20°C. Do you have any clues? Is
it still the pressure-valve
or something interacting with it that is broken?.

We have also repaced/changed the following parts:
Cooling thermostat changed, fuelfilter changed,
ignition-module changed,
cooling system/channels/water changed, airfilter
changed.

Please help me… Not even the local Saab Service
Office knows whats wrong!?

I just got a 9-3 covertable 3 weeks ago. A problem (that has been
addressed once already) is that thee access panel on the back of the
driver’s seat seperates.
I hope that this is not going to be an ongoing thing…….
Anyone else had this probelm?

Does any know where I can pick up a used tow hitch for a 1995 9000 ?

Hello,
This is my fathers car.
It is a 1986 9000T with only 99k.
He purchased it new, and
hasn’t drove it for at least 3 years.
The car was sitting, so the exhaust rotted…..
it needs the center pipe and rear muffler.
Otherwise the rest looks good.
Also there is a scrape in the right rear quarter
 around the wheel well that started rusting…
so this will need repairing, if it bothers you.
Otherwise I just started it up and drove it everything
seems fine….the dash did get a crack in it along the center
probably from sitting all those years…..Work he did in the past
include New alternator, Starter, battery, tires…..tires look pretty good yet.
As far as mechanically with 99k, i don’t think nothing can go wrong…
although, i’m sure all the fluids should be changed…
We are located in Milwaukee WI,
and are taking offers.
Please note we are not selling this car for couple hundred dollars…
we are talking reasonable offers!

My mechanic suggested that I have the firewall replaced on my ’88 900
(196k km) just because its 11 years old..  I was in a hurry to pick up my
car an go, so I didn’t have time to really question him.

Has anyone else with an 80s 900 replaced the firewall because of old age?
I had never given it any thought, assuming it would be fine until there
was a fire or bad accident.  How do firewalls deteriorate? and what are
the signs?

I just purchased my very first saab. It is a 87 9000t. I can not believe
what I have Been missing!  This car is incredible!  

Just thought I would pass on this info!
