FS: 1989 9000 2.0 Turbo Carlsson
FS: 86 Saab 900 – QUICK SALE
I have an ’86 SAAB 900 (3 door) that I want to sell very very soon.
I have too many cars now, and simply do not need it.
It has 193K miles, very well maintained. Runs very well. There
are a couple of issues. The steering is a little tight and could
eventually use a new rack (about 400 dollars) and there are some
small rust spots (just a few) that I patched, but did not get to paint
yet.
Other than that, there is nothing wrong with the car…. I have:
replaced alternator, battery, exhaust manifold, cv joints/boots/ball
joints. front shocks. water pump. calipers/rotors/pads. exhaust system
inc. cat converter. heater control unit and heater valve. front engine
seals, new belts, used vacuum booster, fuel pump sending unit and prepump
(this cost me 600 dollars alone).
If you are looking for a cheap car for the city that will be dependable,
then this is the ticket.
Was asking 1500.
Now asking 1000 for quick sale.
I will also throw in 4 steel rims so
you can throw winter tires on it.
If interested, please call me at:

1988 SAAB APG Turbo
I own an 88 SAAB 900 APG Turbo. The car always seems to run hot. I have
been told this is common. I recently blew my head gasket and am worried
about the cylinder. Any words of advice.
Thanks
'95 9000 Trip Computer Accuracy
My trip computer loses 1 mile per 25 miles when compared to the highway
mile-markers. If I travel 25 miles (as measured by the mileposts) my
trip computer registers only 24. Is this within normal accuracy range?
I assume that the computer is also miscalculating miles-per-gallon and
other measurements.
Is the computer tied into the car’s mechanical odometer? If not, then
what/where does it get its data?

Re: 9000 CD buying
I have a 93 automatic 9000 CD. It is a great car. The thing you need to look out
for is the air conditioning if the car you are looking for has the automatic
climate control features. I prefer the old set-it-yourself manual knobs and
controls — computers in Saabs suck. I also have a 91 900S convertible and the
ac hoses aren’t worth a damn–don’t buy hoses from SAAB, have them made up for
about 1/5 the price. I can’t think of anything else–maybe because it’s a great
car.

Noise in AC and Front suspention
Hey any help here would be great. I posted this once before and was not
able to see my own posting or replies if you responded once before.
Please respond again. Thanks……
I have a 97 900SE Turbo. Im going in for my last visit to the
dealer before the 50K Warrantee is over. But I have two annoying issues
with the car. 1) The front suspension is very loud when I hit a harsh
bump or pothole. It feels like there are no shocks. Ride is still
great besides that. Need to be sure I explain this problem to the
dealer so they fix it the first time.
2) When the Air conditioning turns on and off, there is a clunk and a
strain on the Engine, Seems a little too loud to be normal. I just got
the car 15K ago, not sure if this is typical of such an expensive car.
The first two times I bought it in they never heard the sound. The
third time they found gas in the vacuums canister. Said I must have
filled the car while running it???? They thought that they had fixed
it….. Nope. could anyone please help with either of these issues.
Email would be great. But I do try to read this news group often.
thanks

’97 900SE Turbo.
Just ordered a 9-5
Well, after looking for a few months and test driving lots of different
cars here in Oz I ended up going for a Saab 9-5. Why ? Plenty of room
for the 3 kids in the back. Plenty of things that open and close. A
nice 2.3 turbo engine. I thought the Alfa-Romeo 156 was a great car to
drive but couldn’t bring myself to squeeze the 3 kids into the back (and
here you can’t get a 3-point center seat belt). The Mercedes C200 was a
classy looking car but under-engined and not a safe as Saab according to
Euro NCAP tests and a little more expensive and not as roomy (again no
3-point center belt). Other cars I looked at were a Peugeot 406, VW
Passat, BMW 323, Honda Accord. In the end the Saab made the most
sense. So I bought it !

Saab 9000i boot release UK
I have a 92′K Saab 9000i cse 2.3 and am curious as to the pushbutton on the
drivers side door showing a car with the boot lid up.
I assume that this is some form of remote boot release. Is this only
available on other models and if so can I install it myself, or have it
installed by a garage ?
Also is it better to use super unleaded petrol or just ordinary unleaded,
given the 30% premium on the former.
TIA jim.
