Misfire on '87 900 Turbo 16V S

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:32 am

I have a slightly tweaked 900 Turbo 16 valve, It performs very well except
when accellerating hard all is ok until the Turbo ( APC ) Gauge needle goes
into the red when it misfires, no other problems, immediately I cut back on
the throttle is stops missing! Any ideas please? I have checked all vacuum
hoses, spark plugs are new, all the obvious things checked

HELP PLEASE !!!

Two Stroke Saab Sources/Parts?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:31 am

Can anyone suggest good sources for cars or parts for
two stroke Saabs (1967 and earlier)?

I had a 1966 Saab model 96 with the 850cc 3 cylinder
two stroke engine, and would like to find another
one in at least close to roadworthy condition, preferably
in the Mid-Atlanic region…

TIA,

–Duncan

Question on Brakes

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:30 am

Maybe someone can help me.  I’ve got an 88 900 8 vavle, with the Girling
brakes.  The brake pedal went soft the other day and only really starts to do
anything right near the floor.  Pushing on the clutch brings that point to
about half way down the pedals travel, I assume because they both use the same
circuit.  Pumping them does nothing to bring the pressure back up….and it’s
becoming annoying/dangerous.  What the hell is wrong with it.  All I can think
is the master cylinder or air in the lines.  Just bled the brakes and it did
nothing.  Figured I’d ask here before I went ahead and ordered the new master.
Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

900T Cruise control turbo cut-off switch

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:51 pm

I am currently having a problem with the CC on my 1990 900T (light comes
on…nothing else). I have gone through the system, with the exception of
the cruise ECU under the dash. I have verified that the turbo cut-off switch
with the red cap activates with a vacuum (sucking through a hose attached to
it), but it does not hold the vacuum – it leaks off slowly, thus the vacuum
needs to be constant in order for the switch to stay engaged. I read
(somewhere)that this switch should hold a vacuum in order for the system to
work. Can anyone verify that a leak in this switch would cause the CC to
stop working at all, given the above description?

Any other ideas (with the exception of vacuum leaks and pedal switches –
already checked) are appreciated.

Saab parts

A good source for Saab parts and support is located at  WWW.cybertrool.com
Not only do they stock parts for the Saab, but they  will answer questions
as well as assist in providing information on installing them. Before you
hit the dealer, check them out first.  You could save yourself a lot of time
and money.
