I’m shopping for a new car and I’ve driven the 900SE and loved it. But I keep
hearing that buying a Saab is asking for trouble- with lots of maintenence
and repairs. When I see a person driving a Saab – I usually get positive
feedback – but the reputation must have come from somewhere. I am
specifically interested in hearing from owners of 900SEs from 1996 through
present. I’d like to know what problems have been encountered and how service
and expense was to fix them. I’m also concerned a little about how well they
hold their value. Any info is appreciated.

I have a ’95 V-6 900SE & really love the car, but there is one thing that
I’d like to make better. It doesn’t handle as well as I would like.  I live
in Los Angeles & have tried to find shops who specialize in Saabs, but have
not located any.  I don’t particularly want it to ride really hard or need
it to handle like a race car, but it just wallows too much.  If anyone has
any suggestions, please let me know.

I hate to post this to the list, but I don’t have the owners manual, and
can’t find anything in the car to indicate how to unlock the fuel door.
When I got it (at auction) the door was on, but I had to remove it on the
way home and am now getting tired of the cosmetics of the missing door
Anyway, how do I unlock it, and if there is something wrong with the
unlock mechanism how does it work (ie electrical, mechanical- cable etc)
